Poster from the series of the exploits of Soviet soldiers during the great Patriotic war. Artist F. P. Osipenko. The plot of this poster is associated with the feat Maxim Radacina. Poster A3, the reverse net. The state of preservation is good.


History

Maxim Stepanovich Jedeikin (1914-1944) — Guards Junior Sergeant of the worker-peasant red Army, participant of the great Patriotic war, hero of the Soviet Union (1944).

Maxim Jedeikin was born in 1914 in the village Nelidovo (now Purkaev Dubensky district of Mordovia). He graduated from the village school. Since 1934 he worked in the gold mines in Yakutia, and then was a foreman of carpenters. In 1941, Jedeikin was called up for service in the worker-peasant Red Army. He graduated from the courses of anti-tank Riflemen. He served in the far East. From July 1943 — on the fronts of the great Patriotic war. Took part in battles on the Bryansk, Central and 1st Ukrainian fronts. Participated in the battle of Kursk, was wounded. By September 1943, guards Junior Sergeant Maksim Jedeikin was in charge of a squad anti-tank guns of the 1st infantry battalion of the 22nd guards motorized rifle brigade (6th guards tank corps, 3rd guards tank army, 1 St Ukrainian front). He distinguished himself during the battle of the Dnieper.

27 September 1943 Jedeikin with his office, despite massive enemy fire, crossed the Dnieper near the village of Velykyi Bukryn and took an active part in the capture of the bridgehead on its Western Bank. In battle, he destroyed the tank and the gun of the enemy. Jedeikin defended the beachhead for three days in the part of the 2nd battalion, and on the fourth day found his unit, from which it took over during the crossing. In the subsequent battles on the bridgehead, he destroyed 2 tanks, 3 armored personnel carriers, about 10 machine guns. In the fighting near Kiev Jedeikin with his office continued to operate successfully. So, only in the area of the City he destroyed a tank and 3 armored personnel carriers of the enemy. 9 January 1944 in a battle near the village of Beets Berdichevsky district, Zhytomyr oblast, Ukrainian SSR Jedeikin destroyed a German tank and 3 armored personnel carrier, but he died. He was buried in Beet.
