The original picture is in excellent collector's condition. The photo shows political instructor Ivan Ivanovich Nazarov, who was called up for service on June 26, 1941. The covercoat tunic is clearly visible. The size of the image is 90*128 mm. The political officer depicted in the photo was wounded in battle on April 10, 1942 at the Sosnovaya grove. Here is what his participant writes about this battle: "On military maps in 1942, this area was called the Pine grove. It was here that heavy bloody battles raged for almost a year and a half, from January 1942 to March 1943. Since the beginning of March 1942, the Pine grove has been changing hands. The division was severely exhausted in constant fighting and suffered heavy losses. In April, the battalions of the 444 regiment of the 108 division broke through the German defenses at the edge of the grove and moved deep into the forest, they led the enemy out of the front trench and took up the defense. A heavy battle ensued on the German positions. The Nazis brought fresh forces into the battle, so after a hard fight our fighters had to retreat to their original positions.
