In 1875, two enthusiast, a Moscow merchant Benedict A. Govardovskii, the owner of the alcohol-yeast plant on Derbenevskaya embankment, and, young, well-educated in Riga and Munich brewer albert A. Kempe, obsessed with the idea of building in Moscow a modern brewery – decided to combine their efforts and on the outskirts of Moscow acquired a neglected plot of land for the construction of the brewery.
