History

The medal "For Diligence" was established in 1801 by His Imperial Majesty Alexander Pavlovich (Emperor Alexander I, reigned 1801-1825). The portrait design was designed and executed by the master carver, medallist Vasily Alekseev (years of work 1855-1893). The medal "For Diligence" was awarded to the subjects of the Russian Empire for services rendered to the Russian state on means of diligence. Various social strata of the population fell into this category of awardees, namely: peasants, burghers, retired soldiers who expressed a desire to continue their service after the due date, and others.
