Silver, stamping. The original medal is in good condition. The diameter is 22 mm. The obverse of the medal depicts the coat of arms of the Russian Empire, in the center of which is a porphyry crowned with a crown. The coat of arms of Poland (a single-headed eagle) is depicted on the porphyry. From above, along the side of the medal, along the arc, the inscription: "BENEFIT HONOR AND GLORY.". On the reverse side of the medal there is a horizontal inscription in five lines: "FOR THE SEIZURE OF WARSAW on 25 and 26 AUG 1831". Along the circumference along the rim — two laurel branches connected by a ribbon. A small Orthodox cross surrounded by radiance is depicted on top. Guarantee of authenticity.
The medal "For the Storming of Warsaw" is a state award of the Russian Empire, the establishment of which was associated with the uprising of 1830-1831 in the Kingdom of Poland. The medal was intended to award participants in the storming of Warsaw, which took place from August 25 (September 6) — August 26 (September 7), 1831. The storming of Warsaw was part of the suppression of the long Polish uprising. The medal was established by the decree of Nicholas I of December 31, 1831 (January 12, 1832). The medal was awarded to servicemen who took part in the storming of Warsaw. Generals, officers, lower ranks, doctors and priests who were with the troops were awarded. According to a special imperial decree, this award could be presented until January 1 (13), 1843.
