An original and extremely rare medal in excellent condition. St. Petersburg Mint. Silver with gold plating. The diameter is 3.3 cm. The medal is on the original pad with the original ribbon. Guarantee of authenticity.
The medal "For the renewal of the Winter Palace" was established in December 1838. It was awarded to the participants of the repair ("renewal") The Winter Palace after the fire on December 17-19, 1837. The drawing of the medal was approved by Emperor Nicholas I in January 1839. In March-July 1839 on 175 gold medals (20 of them decorated with diamonds) and 7818 silver medals were produced and issued to the awarded at the St. Petersburg Mint.
