The original. |
The original medal is in excellent collectible condition. Dark bronze, stamping. Engravers V. Alekseev, P. Meshcheryakov. The inscription "B. M. CATHERINE II EMPRESS AND ALEXANDER II EMPEROR OF ALL RUSSIA" runs around the circle of the obverse. Inside are placed the waist images of Catherine II and Alexander II to the left. On Catherine's head is a small crown and a laurel wreath, on her neck is a chain of St. St. Andrew the First-Called, the St. George ribbon is thrown over the right shoulder, on the chest are the stars of the Orders of St. Andrew the First-Called and St. Georgiyaya. Alexander II is depicted in a general's uniform, with a chain of St. Nicholas around his neck. St. Andrew the First-Called and the Prussian Order, medals and the Order of St. George on the chest, the St. George ribbon is thrown over the right shoulder, on the left side of the chest are the stars of the Orders of St. Andrew the First-Called, St. George and St. Vladimir. On the edge of Alexander's hand is the signature "V. Alekseev R." ("V. Alekseev cut"). On the reverse on the rim is the inscription "FOR SERVICE AND BRAVERY — 1769 NOVEMBER 26, 1869". Inside is a cross of the Order of St. George hanging on a ribbon of the same order, on both sides are small wreaths of laurel and oak branches, at the bottom are the initials P. M. R. ("P. Meshcheryakov cut"). Guarantee of authenticity.
