Description

Original and quite rare marine Cheverny coat in excellent condition. Keverne emblems in the form of the eagle sitting on the shield of the so-called "Greek" forms in the form of a Crescent with a distinctive rosettes along the edges with a Welt part number, first appeared in the uniform of the Russian army and Navy as an integral part of the device shako sample 1828 Distinctive feature naval shako was Admiralty anchors crossed behind the eagle; the rest of the drawing of the coat of arms (spreading its wings, Perun and a Laurel wreath at the feet, the breastplate characteristic pointed shape with image of St. George) is the same as on army shakos. Combatant naval crews, preparing sailors for war ships were rated metal instrument in yellow brass (auxiliary and coast had silver device). Initially, the number of the naval crew on the flap was made of expanded metal, so that the Golden metal background, he stood out the black color of the cloth, which was covered shako. During the General extensive reforms of the troops of the beginning of the 1830s, when numbers of many of the regiments had to be changed for organizational reasons, the military land office to save did not make a new coat of arms. In 1833 Welt the rooms were replaced by the patch, and the figures were made of metal color, the opposite color of the metal part of the device (the device the gold – silver) and was soldered to a small figure panel, which is attached to the shield of the coat of arms with clasps. Such system allowed to change the part number quite easily and quickly, without special expense. Almost immediately, in 1833 – 1834, this system was adopted in the Navy. Because keverne emblems (however, like many other types of metal fittings) at that time had a lasting (at least 20 years) lifespan, if you change the sample form they are often used when a new form without modifications or with minimal modifications. This type of emblem was used on the fleet at shako samples, 1828, 1843 and 1854 In the middle of the XIX century the 29-th naval crew was part of the 1st division of the black sea fleet. Like other black sea the crews, he took an active part in the defense of Sevastopol and at the end of the Crimean war, was disbanded because the Black sea were declared open to vessels of all Nations, and Russia, as the defeated, were deprived of the right to have military fleet. The uniforms of sailors of the Russian Imperial Navy during the reign of Emperor Nicholas I in our days are extremely rare.
