5-th naval crew were among the oldest in the Russian Navy and as of the end of XIX century there lived in Kronstadt. 27 Jan 1892, numbered, coded message to the crew was replaced with the monogram of Grand Duke Alexei Alexandrovich, the last General-Admiral of the Russian fleet. Shoulder straps made in the traditional technique of the Russian Navy, which entered into use in the 1820's.
