Description

Pair of original early naval epaulettes in good collectible condition. 7th naval crew were among the oldest in the Russian Navy. At the beginning of the twentieth century he was stationed in St. Petersburg, in the barracks of the Navy Department, on the Kryukov canal, opposite New Holland (now in this building is the Central naval Museum). Sailors shoulder straps of the 7th crew made in the traditional technique of the Russian Navy, which entered into use in the 1820's. To cut to the pursuit curve to its linkage with a special stamp punch contour figures, and then placed a white cloth and sewn around the perimeter (initially manually, and from the 1860s, machine stitching). Despite the age and yellowing of white cloth, the shoulder straps are well-preserved (partially damaged on one edge of the cloth). Sailors shoulder straps of the late XIX century, as a rule, there are one pair of epaulet –a rarity. Fabric shoulder straps somewhat coarse from time to time. Shoulder straps equipped with buttons of the sample of 1855, used in the Russian Navy until 1904. The guarantee of authenticity.
