A pair of epaulettes sailors of the 3rd naval crew REEF

Original epaulets of the Russian sailor in very good collectible condition. 3rd naval crew were among the oldest in the Russian Navy; he was stationed in Libau, Kronstadt. The shoulder straps are made in the technique, which entered into use in the 1820's. To cut to the chase pattern to their stitching with a special stamp punch contour figures, and then placed a white cloth and sewn around the perimeter (initially manually, and from the 1860s, machine stitching). Despite the age, the shoulder straps are in good condition and require only the restoration of the original stitching around the edges instead of lost. An interesting feature of one of the shoulder straps – hexagonal upper section, probably in imitation of the insignia of officers. The guarantee of authenticity.
